When i first started this project i didn't even think of destiny 2 to be honest.. i was going for some abstract art, combining some kind of high tech board (made with the help of JSplacement) with a plain marble cube and adding gold to it because why not! and at that time i was playing a lot of destiny 2 so as soon as i gave it my first test render it really reminded me of destiny 2 environment, so i figured why not do a destiny 2 inspired render? so i instantly knew i should make the ace of spades as its my favorite weapon in the game.. and i figured i should probably use the cube thing in the render and possibly make a background of it or something.
so i started modeling the gun, i textured it using an add-on called mask tools in blender which really amazed me as to how customized it can be and i really didn't see a point in using substance painter for the texturing at all! when i was done with the gun i started working on the background, camera placement and lighting and voila!
